“When I go to shows, I want to see the person on stage looking like they’ve lost their minds. Or that they’re so close to what it was they felt when they wrote that song. They’re really close to something that’s beyond the setting. It’s dramatic in the way that the thought of even trying to get there requires some drama.

“‘Queen’ is hyper-specific and less about one specific memory of mine, which can end up being meaningful to other people. But that one’s an anthem for people. I’ve talked to a lot of people about that song over the last year.”
